MISCHIEF TAKES AIM AT SOCIAL MOBILITY WITH CHARITY DARTS CHAMPIONSHIP
Mischief, the multi-award winning creative agency, has today announced the launch of The PR Darts Championship, a new charity tournament bringing together agencies from across the PR industry in support of social mobility charity Futures For All.
Taking place at Flight Club Victoria on 24th November, teams of four from across the PR and Communications sector will compete in a series of fast-paced matches to be crowned theinaugural PR Darts Champions.
As darts continues its cultural resurgence and cements itself as one of the UK's most popular sporting pastimes heading into the festive season, the event will offer agencies the chance to embrace the trend while raising money for a good cause.
The championship is being supported by headline sponsors Loaded Dice Broadcast, a performance-first broadcast PR agency, and experiential production agency 22x43 Creative, both of whom will be entering teams into the tournament.
Entry costs £300 per team, with all proceeds from the entry fee donated to Futures For All, a leading social mobility charity and the UK's largest provider of work experience, opening doors to careers for young people, whatever their background.
The partnership forms part of Mischief's wider commitment to supporting and championing the next generation of talent. Earlier this year, the agency teamed up with Futures For All, delivering careers talks and mentoring for state-educated young people interested in PR, communications and the creative industries.
The initiative also builds on the work of cl!ckbait, Mischief's Gen Z-focused division, launched last year to help brands better understand the attitudes, behaviours and ambitions of younger generations. Through its partnership with Futures For All, the agency is extending that
commitment beyond insight and commentary to create tangible opportunities for future talent. Agencies can enter here. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Lewis Durkin, Creative Director at Mischief, said:
"There's a surprising amount of crossover between the darts and communications worlds. We're all told to get to the point, we all rely on somebody else to do the numbers and by December we're all trying to finish as quickly as possible."
"This might be the only time in our careers that doing a 180 in comms is actively encouraged. More importantly, it's a chance for the industry to come together, have some fun and raise money for a brilliant charity that is helping open doors for the next generation."
Edgar Sutcliffe, Director of Fundraising at Futures For All, said:
"A young person's background shouldn't determine their future. Too many talented young people never find out that careers in PR and communications exist. Partnerships with organisations like Mischief change that, giving young people access to professionals who can help them believe those careers are within reach."
"We're delighted to be part of an initiative that not only raises vital funds for our work, but also brings an industry together around a shared commitment to supporting future generations. We look forward to seeing who takes home the title."
